Tricia Sellmer is an established contemporary Canadian artist whose work is held in public and private collections from Vancouver to Toronto, New York to Berlin, Spain to South Africa, and all places in between. Additionally, Tricia has hand-printed books in both the Canadian National Library and Archives in Ottawa, Ontario, and the Musee Municipal d’Art et d’Historie de Colombes in Paris, France.
She is most known for her large-scale oil, acrylic, and multi-media paintings. Bold, vibrant, and colourful, Tricia’s exalted florals and majestic abstracts illustrate movement, and textural expression. Tricia probes the personal and veiled subtleties of the garden and the shifting patterns of the landscape. She likes to connect the dots and blur the boundaries between genres. Tricia’s style is a confluence of music and emotion meeting canvas.
Tricia has travelled the world on research, residencies, and lecturing expeditions. She has exhibited solo and collaboratively throughout British Columbia, Canada, North America, New York, Boston, Berlin, London, Hong Kong, and Italy.
As an independent working artist, Tricia also writes, lectures and curates projects and exhibitions. Tricia is currently living and working in Kamloops, British Columbia Canada. She can be found working or teaching from her studio inside Casa Décor.
"Searching for the unexpected. I think that's perhaps the theme for the rest of my life."
-Tricia Sellmer
Sleep well my precious one. You gave all you could give and then even more. Without you I would not have become me. Thank you.
